John Riad - Director & Principal Remedial Engineer

John has been working in the remedial engineering industry since 2010. He’s a registered NSW Design Practitioner DEP1961 (Civil, Structural, Facades) and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with Honours from UTS and diploma in Engineering Practice from UTS.

Widely recognized as one of the top remedial engineers in New South Wales, he consistently demonstrates an unwavering commitment to his clients. His dedication to excellence extends beyond the call of duty, as he continually strives to exceed expectations and deliver exceptional results.

Key Competences

John excels in structural and foundational analysis and interpreting engineering, architectural and fabrication drawings. Plus, he is an expert in the diagnosis and inspection of remedial building issues, such as:

  • Concrete spalling
  • Waterproofing membrane failures and detailing issues
  • Internal water seepage
  • Cracking in concrete and masonry structures
  • Construction defects
  • Structural inadequacies
  • Structural subsidence, i-e., caving in of land, retaining walls, etc.

Alongside this, he prepares technical building diagnostics and engineering reports, including recommendations about rectification works. John can also prepare detailed rectification strategies for remedial works, including technical specifications like structural design and waterproofing details and he can prepare tender documentation also.

John can also work as an Expert Witness and inspect defective buildings, as he’s well-versed in contract documentation, the Home Building Act 1989, the National Construction Code, the Building Code of Australia, and the NSW Guide to Standards and Tolerances.

And on top of this, John also manages budgets and contractors and sees projects through the design and construction phase of remedial engineering.

David Lazarevski - Remedial Engineer

David Lazarevski is a dedicated Remedial Engineer at Endeavour Engineering, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of excellence in engineering practices from his previous role within the Rail infrastructure industry. Within this role he exhibited remarkable proficiency in representing the company in high-stakes environments, confidently navigating through FSC and ISO audits to secure satisfactory outcomes.

David was instrumental in reviewing and enhancing company documents to ensure they met the highest standards, incorporating all relevant information. His initiative led to the development of new safety procedures that adhered to Australian Standards and Codes of Practice, demonstrating a keen understanding of regulatory compliance and safety management.

Davids’s commitment to maintaining high safety standards was further demonstrated through conducting HSE site inspections, ensuring that project sites adhered to exemplary safety norms. His engagement in regular meetings with both internal staff and external clients facilitated comprehensive discussions on project aspects, enhancing project coordination and communication.

Now at Endeavour Engineering, David leverages his extensive background in engineering practices, safety procedure development, and project management to excel as a Remedial Engineer. David has completed numerous site inspections as to which he has assessed a Builders work, completed building reports, completed remedial building specifications, and engaged with contractors onsite to co-ordinate building works. His ability to synthesize complex information, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives positions him as an asset to the Endeavour Engineering team and its clients. 

Kim Seng Thai - Civil Engineer

Kim is a detail-oriented Civil Engineer specialising in remedial engineering, with particular expertise in waterproofing, façade restoration, and structural remediation. He has extensive experience managing subcontractors, ensuring works comply with drawings and specifications, and overseeing tendering processes. His areas of proficiency include cost control, quality assurance, and project coordination.

Before joining Endeavour Engineering, Kim served as a Site Engineer in the construction industry, where he efficiently managed subcontractor relations, site compliance, and procurement. He played a pivotal role in tendering processes, negotiating contracts, and implementing process improvements that enhanced productivity and reduced costs.

Since joining Endeavour Engineering, Kim has taken responsibility for project management, site inspections, and quality control across a range of remedial engineering projects. He has prepared detailed building reports, developed remedial specifications, and liaised with contractors onsite to coordinate and monitor works relating to waterproofing, façade rectification, and structural integrity.

Kim holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) from the University of Technology Sydney, underpinned by a strong foundation in structural analysis and engineering mechanics. His practical approach and unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes make him a valuable member of the Endeavour Engineering team.
